What we collect
Lantern Myths is a reading site. There are no accounts, comment forms, newsletters, or sign-ups, and we do not ask you for personal information. Search runs inside your browser over the site’s own story index. If you choose the bright reading mode, that preference is saved in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers it on your next visit; it never leaves your device.
Hosting and visitor statistics
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as IP addresses and browser details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies or track you across other websites, and it gives us totals, not information about individual readers.
Advertising
We plan to show advertising from Google AdSense to support the site. When advertising is active, Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites, and to measure how ads perform. You can control personalised advertising in Google My Ad Center and learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Where the law requires consent, we will ask for it before advertising cookies are used.
Young readers
Our stories are written for teenagers and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a young reader and want to email us, please ask a parent or guardian first.
If you write to us, we use your email address and message only to reply, and we delete correspondence we no longer need.
External links
Our source lists link to museums, encyclopedias, and archives. Those websites have their own privacy practices.
